All:
Hi! As a member of the Athletic Committee, I wanted to share some information to you about the SCS Boys JV Basketball Team:
(6th grade parents bear with me!)
1. We have the Greatest Coaches and role models for our boys:(BRIEF Bio)
Steve Rosa has been coaching JVB Basketball at SCS for over 20+ years. He coaches for the pure love of the sport and his enthusiasm is contagious. He doesn’t have any children on the team or in the school, and has earned the respect from every parent who has had the privilege of having their son on his team. Steve and his wife, Marianne, have 3 grown children (I think) and I know they are also proud grandparents! They own “What’s for Dessert” on Rt. 71 in SLH and Rosa and Sons Painting Contractors, Spring Lake.
Dave Frost is another great coach and role model. He and his wife, Meghan, are the parents of 6 kids; Patrick (4 years old), David (4th grade) & Billy (7th grade) at SCS, Matt (9th grade) and Emily (12th grade) at SRHS and Steven (Freshman) at Fordham University. Dave has incredible basketball knowledge and has a lot of experience when it comes to teaching children everything from basketball fundamentals to tying shoes! This is Dave’s 4th season coaching SCS JVB Basketball.
Both coaches have been through VIRTUS, Rutger’s Training and have been fingerprinted according to Diocesan Guidelines.
2. Coaching at SCS is Volunteer.
3. GAMES:

Home Game Responsibilities:
1. Collect $ at the door. We will need parent volunteers to arrive 1/2 hour before the game to collect.
2. Keep the clock
3. Keep the book
(Sign up sheet to follow)
We may also play some scrimmages against local public schools. We do not collect $ at the door for them.
Away games: Most catholic schools collect $ at the door….bring some singles.
Traditionally at the end of the year SCS hosts a “5th Qtr Tournament” … MORE of that to follow.
4. Paperwork: (Print the “Student Sign off Paper 2011″)
Please complete the attached SCS Student Sign off Paper 2011 and return to school tomorrow (Tues.) or Wed. at the latest to the attention of Patty Mabrey: Athletic Director
Please read with your child the Student Responsibilities 2011 document attached.
(Patty keeps these Student Sign off Papers on file and this is a requirement from the administration)
Print it now!
Thanks,
Go Lakers!
